Undulating plats of rich plowed earth
Pimpled with rounded bales of hay
Stubbled whiskers glisten the dirt
Remnants of corn from harvest day
Wind gusts swirl o’er endless seas
Fallow lands renew once more
Wheat and corn to sprout again
Repeat the cycle o’er and o’er
Metal cones with pointed hats
Squatty silos filled with grain
Sentinel outposts in the land
Watch as seasons come again
Thankful for its time of rest
Fields their gift have given up
With glad abandon wait again
For blessings infused from above
