Did a bird in fact flit by
Blue iridescence blazing
Or was it but a moment’s glimpse
My mind’s eye then amazing
Color blazed through gloomy gray
Of sky and soul in winter
Rarely seen in busy town
Mountain birds its kinder
Yet blue it flew to bright the day
Reminders in my sorrow
That gladness pierces even gloom
God-sent a bright-winged arrow
Oh bluebird take my love and fly
To those my arms are missing
And pierce them with your glad surprise
Of joy and heart-filled blessing

LORD, thank You for those perfectly timed occurrences that turn our eyes off our gloom and onto the brightness of Your presence and promise. May all who mourn today see You, Your provision, Your great abiding Love. You know our sorrows even more than we do…comfort us, I pray. Thank You, Lord, for joy amidst our suffering. Only in You may we experience such a thing! Bless You, LORD! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Matthew 5:4 NKJV
“Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted”
Psalms 124:7-8
“Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth”
