While Waiting

‘Tis not a final failure when
A vessel’s power drops
No wind to fill its sails full
Sans force it finally stops

Enters doldrums not foreseen
“Take charge and sail,” it’s told
“Make the choice, demand your way”
“Compel the winds to blow”

Inept to stir the mighty wind
Command, exert its will
Rather readies for the change
Of rising gusts and gale

Keeps watch for its appointed time
Sets sails to unfurl
Heeds not capriciously false winds
Waits steady when to sail

LORD, help us in our waiting to seek Your purposes and wisdom, especially in those times when waiting is hard, when we do not understand. Thank You that You see the grand scheme of things and work all for our good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Isaiah 33:6 NKJV
“Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.”

Isaiah 51:10
“Are You not the One who dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; That made the depths of the sea a road For the redeemed to cross over?”

Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
