Patches of Blue

Storms everywhere crowding me
With spiritual warfare cruel
Yet beyond great cumulus clouds
The sky held patches of blue

Some clouds white, others gray
Darkness lofty grew
Yet thunder signs could not blot out
Vibrant patches of blue

Be still my heart, all is well
Though pressures fall and rise
Pray, veer from internal storms
Look up, still blue’s the sky

Throughout the day with spits of rain
The cloudscapes gaily played
The thunder fled as currents changed
Cloud shapes in vast blue space

Came again through clouded day
Lessons from on high
Though warfare pelts, impairing me
Higher still is God’s blue sky

With lighter heart at end of day
With relief and gratitude
My heart and soul will n’er forget
Look up, see patches of blue

LORD, thank You for the wonders of nature, Your living art that declares Your glory and reminds us of Your everlasting, conquering Power. No matter what comes against us or dims our sight, You are with us, personally infusing new strength and courage at the very moment we need in beautiful and surprising ways. Thank You for Your eternal Love and presence that, like the great blue sky, covers us and is greater than any storm. All praise and glory to You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Psalm 19:1 NKJV
“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.”

Luke 21:25-28
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
