An Aspen Serenade

Look up look up
The aspens bid
Silent sentinels
Waiting expectantly
To quiver once more
On unseen breeze
Abandoned unto joy
Tiny clapping cymbals
Hung on slender petioles
An airy symphony

For whose ears
This silent tinkling
For creatures here
Or those with angel wings
Is the breeze itself
The wake of joyous cherubs
Chasing amongst branches
Tempests and raging wind
Evidence of angels
Battling principalities

Is this leafy dance
Inspiration for human song
A quiet display
Of creation rejoicing
Look up, my soul
Let cobwebs sweep away
Please, leaves, quiver again
Tremble as the violin
Carry me to Heaven’s place
Of endless glad refrain

~~~
LORD, thank You for the beauty of Your creation. For evidences and reminders You are here. For the ceaseless praise lifted to You by bursting blooms and quivering leaves, branches reaching upwards to Your light. May my arms, my being, lift in praise, too, LORD. Thank you for the bounteous reminders to rejoice in You always. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Isaiah 55:11-12 NKJV
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth. It shall not return to Me void, but I shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
For you shall out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
